FLORENCE, Ky. – Home runs from Brennan Price and Anthony Brocato, part of run production in four consecutive innings for the Florence Y’alls, propelled them to a 7-5 win at Thomas More Stadium Wednesday over the Washington Wild Things, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Price’s team-leading fourth home run of the season came in the form of a three-run shot in the bottom of the fourth inning. A.J. Bumpass scored on a wild pitch in the fifth. Brocato hit a solo homer in the sixth, then singled in a pair of Y’alls an inning later.

Chavez, Price, and Brocato each had multi-hit outings for Florence, while the latter two drove in three runs each. Brocato, who turned 26 yesterday, is now tied for the team lead with 13 RBI.

That run support backed up a strong outing for starting pitcher Jonaiker Villalobos. In his first start since May 20, the Venezuelan left hander allowed two earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched. Villalobos takes a no decision with the game tied at his departure.

David Stiehl, Bobby Brabrand, Karl Craigie, and Joe Dougherty came out of the Y’alls bullpen and combined to give their team the win. Brabrand earns the win, with Dougherty picking up his second save of the year.

The win, Florence’s first since Thursday night in Trois-Rivieres, breaks up a losing streak of close contests and lost leads. Aside from an early 1-0 deficit, Florence did not find themselves behind after the fourth inning. It is their first victory against a west division opponent this season.

The Y’alls and Wild Things conclude their first series of the season with tomorrow’s rubber game beginning at 6:34 p.m. at Thomas More Stadium. Yasel Santana is Florence’s projected starter. He faces Washington's Hayden Pearce.
